Incoming Wire Transfers
If you are receiving a wire transfer to your IDB Global Federal Credit Union account from a different financial institution in the United States or from abroad. We will process your wire transfer no later than 3:00pm EST.
We are pleased to share with members that we have just secured a BIC. BIC is the acronym for International Banking Code (in French), and it refers to the international identifier for each financial institution. This code acts like a physical address for where your money will be sent. Just like the routing number but on a global scale, it’s extremely useful for international wire transfers.
Understanding the Code:
Bank code: The first four letters of the BIC code represent the bank’s name. Typically this is a shortened version of the bank’s name.
Country code: The next two characters of the BIC code represent the country where the bank resides.
Location code: The next two characters identify where the bank’s head office is located.
Please find the necessary information below to provide to your financial institution when requesting a wire transfer.
- BIC value: IDBGUS32
- Our ABA Routing Number: 254074183 (also needed for ACH, Direct Deposit and other electronic transactions)
- Our financial institution name and address: IDB Global Federal Credit Union, 1300 New York Avenue, NW Washington, D.C. 20577
- The beneficiary information: Your name and account number at the IDB Global Federal Credit Union
